2018 Farm Bill Overview

The 2018 Agriculture Improvement Act — commonly referred to as the Farm Bill — federally legalized hemp and hemp-derived compounds, provided they meet strict compliance requirements. According to Section 10113 of the bill, hemp is defined as:

• Any part of the Cannabis sativa L. plant, including seeds and all derivatives, extracts, cannabinoids, isomers, acids, salts, and salts of isomers.
• With a Delta-9 THC concentration not exceeding 0.3% on a dry weight basis.
